I Was In Primary School, Where Were You In 92?

Skream Stella Session 19/8/09

Possibly the one combination of producers I have been waiting so long for, Skream remixing Zomby. Sticking to the original a lot, Skream adds a deeper bassline, and mashes up the vocals more so than usual. Definitely worth a listen, even if you've heard it already.
Catch this and the new nero refix of Deadmau5's classic 'Ghosts N Stuff' on Skream's latest Stella Sessin for Rinse FM in the link above.

I'm Not Your Toy (Nero Remix)

-link removed-
So the Jack Beats Remix has been around for a little while now and has been played out a little, but now a fresh remix has surfaced. Dubstep duo Nero have jumped on this track, and given it their signature treatment. With a harmonic intro, dropping into a filthy wobbling bassline, you'll definitely be hearing this a lot in the near future !

I'm Not Your Toy (Jack Beats Remix)

Jack Beats have done it again! By now you should already know about their immense remixing skills. This time they've worked their magic on La Roux's new tune, and they've done it so nicely. Take a listen, but I guarantee you'll like it !

Shake It

Toddla T's long awaited mix for Fabriclive has finally dropped, bringing the best in current UK dancehall, ghetto house and dubstep. Liquid like mixing from the word go, Toddla has really put massive amounts of effort into this, and it has certainly paid off. As with his dj sets, the mix packs the bass and choppy vocals, exactly what the crowd want to hear. Here is a sample tune from the mix, Martelo's megashake mix of Toddla's massive tune ' Shake It'.

Stenchman - Suspicious Stench

Stenchman has been kind enough to release his album for free, non commercial use, and as I'm sure you already know, its a dirty one! The album includes lots of his own productions, and a couple of remixes, one of them being his rendition of the massive Township Funk. Definitely worth a listen, even if you aren't his biggest fan. Cop it from the Dubstep Forum link above.

Cozza Frenzy

Bassnectar's tour is set to start on October 1st, to co-incide with the drop of his new tune Cozza Frenzy.

Featured with it comes two remixes, one being the "Bassnectar Mega - Bass Remix".

-Link Removed-

It sounds like it's name; bass heavy, with deep vocals over the top giving it a really dark sound compared to the original. Be sure to cop it on the official release.

Example - Watch the Sun Come Up (Joker & Ginz Remix) (LOW QUALITY PREVIEW)

Joker & Ginz can seem to do no wrong at the minute, getting radio play everyday from Rinse Fm, whilst playing out nearly every night. Found this tune on the dubstep forums as a free download, although its only 192kps it's definitely worth a listen. Sticking to their usual deep mellow sounds, this one will definitely be played out in the future. Check Beatport for the full 320 when it drops.

Netsky Mix

Here's Netskys latest mix, for DnB Arena. The liquid master dosn't dissapoint, with a mix of old and brand new Drum n Base, flawlessly mixed and with a great selection of tunes.

I posted a few days ago about Netskys latest track, Everday. It's the first track on this mix so listen up. The voting for the DnB awards is almost over, so let's hope he wins the award for Best Newcomer Producer.

Netsky - DnB Arena Podcast Mix

Netsky started out small as a liquid DnB producer, but he's rising fast so keep an eye on him. I'll be sure to post more on him in the future, as he is one of my favourite DJ's and producers of the moment.

In The Middle

-link removed-

Having been listening to a radio rip of this tune for a little while now, it's such a relief to finally have the full version. Nero did an amazing job remixing this tune, fluent vocals matching a deep bassline as per, now its just time to wait until M J Cole - Sincere (Nero Remix) comes out.

-link removed-

So here's the latest installment in the massive line of remixes buy gutter house legend L-Vis 1990. Although this remix does still sound a lot like the original, L-Vis has added a nice funky bassline, and cut the vocals down nicely. Cop it whilst it's fresh !

Bukkha

Heard this fix of Rich Boy - Throw Some D's done by Bukkha, and had to share.

If you havn't heard of Bukkha before he's an upcoming dubstep producer and DJ from Louisiana, USA. Theres been an increase in heavy dub tunes coming out of America, hopefully this is a sign of things to come.

-link removed-

If you like what you hear, listen to these to dark wobblers from Bukkha on Code of Arms Rec.
He keeps the tunes in a dark style with his samples, but dosn't make the basslines too gritty, which makes for a dark but chilled tracks. They are avaliable on vinyl now.

One Foot Ahead Of The Other

Zomby - Helter Skelter

Once upon a time, there was a band called The Cure, who had a front man named Robert Smith. Robert was an emotional being, who was always looking to test his boundaries and search out new experiences. After touring the Germany in the early 80’s with his band of eyeliner encrusted over-emotional Goth-men, Robert began a non-sexual but intensely intimate relationship with Florian Schneider, front man of Electro forefathers, Kraftwerk. The unlikely couple decided to experiment with the then new science of gene splicing. After a few horrific failed attempts, they finally managed to successfully cross their DNA into the vessel of a baby boy. Months past, and it became disturbingly apparent that they two men, who at the time were at the peaks of their careers, had created a being of pure evil. They decided to enlist the help of the 4’2 purple sex-pest Prince to drown the young baby in a sea of colours and tears, and endeavor to move on with their lives alone, ever trying to forget the horrific experiences the child had graced upon their lives.....

....

For many years, the baby’s soul circled the earth, crying pixels and watching women get undressed in locker rooms and stuff, for he is just a soul, and invisible to the human eye, and can get away with that kind of thing. The child found out there was a way to come back from the dead in some kind of Hellraiser type puzzle themed ritual, and hark, the boy (who was now a man) did indeed rise from the dead, and yes, he did once again walk the earth with the sole intent of wrong-doing.....

....

That boy is Zomby, and this is his new EP.....

One of the most anticipated EP's to date, camera shy Zomby follows up his previous release on hyperdub with this double pack on Ramp Recordings. Jam packed full of glitchy, bleepy basslines and synths, it's almost bordering on chip-tune. The EP is availible in all formats, Vinyl/CD/MP3, and you can cop it from the usual Boomkat and Beatport.

Netsky

Netsky is moving up in the liquid DnB world, and recently has been producing some amazing new tracks.

He's finally beginning to get noticed, with a nomination in the Drum n Base awards as Best Newcomer Producer Check it out to vote for him.

He has recently produced a new tune "Everyday" which is set to be one of his best.

Here's the sample of Everyday and two more of my favourite recent Netsky tracks in full, both with his signature melodic vibes over a heavy slow bassline. Turn the sub up and enjoy.

Netsky - Everyday (Sample)

Netsky - Lost In This World

And my personal favourite:

Netsky - Starlight

J Majik & Wickaman

So it seems J Majik & Wickaman have a new album in the works, should be out around october time, and judging from this sample, it's not going to be one to be missed.

Its good to see them moving into a really techy sound, and hopefully the rest of the album brings more tunes in this style.

---Preview Clip Removed---

Enjoy, and expect a post on their new album in the future.

Benga - Why Is Everything In Mono?

Benga - Why Is Everything Mono?

Here's the latest tune from dub legend, Benga, although who knows whether it'll get a full release or not. Sticking to his usual style, whist adding in a 'Clap Your Hands' like wobble, this one works really well. Hold tight Rinse Fm for dropping this in 320 for free.

Bat For Lashes - Daniel (Graphics Dubstep Remix)

Since first opening this tune, I haven't stopped playing it, it's just so mellow and good for chilling out with. With a nice mellow vocal, then a deep dark wobble, Graphics has got some skills on production. Keep your eyes out for new stuff from him in the near future.
